Synopsis
I’m Catherine Ashton, a freelance writer who believed she had the perfect family. My husband, William, was quiet and dependable, and my mother-in-law, Dorothea, seemed thoughtful and kind. But after the birth of my son, James, everything changed. Dorothea offered to care for me, yet she constantly created conflict over meals and household decisions. When I suggested hiring a nurse to ease her burden, she accused me of trying to drive her away. After one confrontation, William still chose to defend his mother. Fortunately, I had captured evidence of her manipulation. Now I must uncover how far Dorothea will go to control her son—and whether my marriage can survive the truth.
