Synopsis
For eight years, I worked in the shadows of the Maynard mafia family, taking a bullet for the heir, Orion, and becoming his wife. He saw our marriage as a strategic alliance; I mistook it for fate. When his old flame Sabrina returned from London, he neglected and humiliated me, even calling out her name in our most intimate moments. I tattooed a sunflower over the crescent moon that bound us, tricked him into signing the divorce papers, and bought a one-way ticket to Boston with my MIT acceptance letter in hand. He finally realized what he'd lost and risked his life to save me in a blizzard—but one rescue could never make up for four years of pain. The sunflower that once chased the moon had finally turned toward its own sunlight.
