Synopsis
Leo Marinos has spent his entire life being called a “demon’s child” because of the strange dark mark on his arm. He thought he was nothing more than a poor fisherman—until the Emperor’s soldiers came to kill him. In a single night, Leo discovers that he is the lost half-blood heir of Aquilonia, his father was murdered by his own son, and the man who raised him has been hiding the truth for eighteen years. Then his blood turns blue. Scales spread across his skin, and for the first time, Leo can breathe beneath the sea. But the greatest secret is still waiting in the abyss. Guided by his father’s royal medallion, Leo encounters an ancient sea serpent bound to his bloodline by a 639-year-old covenant. Now the Emperor is hunting him, his father’s legacy lies buried beyond the Abyssal Rift, and Leo must uncover the truth before the throne that should have been his becomes his grave. He was born a half-blood. The sea knows him as its king.
