Synopsis
Vivian was still signing the company merger documents on her husband’s behalf when his secretary, Sophie, walked into the office wearing Vivian’s missing anniversary diamond necklace. The next second, Ethan wrapped an arm around Sophie’s waist and coldly told Vivian, “We need to talk about a divorce.” Even more painfully, the pregnant woman was the very same employee Vivian had personally hired and painstakingly trained from the ground up. When Ethan offered her a divorce in exchange for an apartment, Vivian asked for only the 15% of company shares she was rightfully entitled to. Then she turned around and called her mother. Her mother introduced her to a man—Alexander Rowe, the managing partner of one of the most prestigious law firms on the East Coast. His grandfather was critically ill and needed him to have a wife to fulfill his final wish. Meanwhile, Vivian, freshly betrayed by her husband, needed a new identity to start her life over. And so, a one-year contract marriage began. But Vivian never expected that the man who seemed to be marrying her only to fulfill an agreement would see through every one of her disguises when she was at her most vulnerable. When Sophie plotted to steal confidential business secrets and send Vivian straight into the abyss, Alexander produced a piece of evidence that no one saw coming. Was this marriage merely a transaction—or had Vivian finally met the man who would truly stand by her side?
