Synopsis
Cora Whitfield is the heir to the East Coast’s leading medical conglomerate. On the operating table, Ethan, her beloved husband and chief surgeon, attempts to murder her under the guise of removing a benign tumor. When the anesthesia wears off prematurely, Cora cannot move a muscle, yet remains fully conscious. She hears Ethan intentionally lacerate her hepatic artery, plotting to forge her death report so he can marry her adopted sister Mia after she dies. Ethan conspired with Mia and hospital staff for months to seize her $80 million trust fund. Facing death, Cora swears vengeance. A principled anesthesiologist secretly saves her life. Cora immediately activates the asset kill switch to freeze all her wealth. She gathers audio evidence recorded in the operating room and sends the complete proof to the board of directors, the FBI and the press. The scheme unravels completely. Ethan receives a life sentence, and Mia, his accomplice, is imprisoned. Now at the helm of the family medical empire, Cora refuses to be consumed by hatred. She funds a charitable medical foundation and meets Adrian, a compassionate trauma surgeon in Africa. Having survived a brush with death, she holds onto everything that belongs to her and finds a soulmate who loves her for who she is, not her fortune, embarking on a brand-new life.
