Synopsis
Synopsis:Clara is a trainee Grim Reaper with a dangerously soft heart. Time and again, she botches her soul-escorting assignments by feeling too much — she once made such a catastrophic mistake that Winston Churchill was never born, nearly rewriting all of human history. Now her name is on the Erasure List: complete twenty soul escorts in ten days, or be wiped out of existence entirely. Her desperation has a name — Lucas. Her little brother's soul is fractured and fading, and only Clara becoming a full-fledged Reaper, earning enough to pay for his repair, can save him. Also on the Erasure List is Rowan, a brilliant and infuriatingly handsome boy from the most powerful family in the Reaper realm — who has, for reasons no one understands, simply stopped doing his job. Forced into partnership, the two couldn't be more mismatched. Clara navigates the soul world through empathy and instinct; Rowan fills her every gap with raw, almost careless power. One runs cold, the other warm. One stumbles forward on heart alone, the other coasts on talent he refuses to use. But mission by mission, teetering on the edge of erasure, two lonely souls begin — quietly, inevitably — to find each other.
