Synopsis
Five years ago, Chloe deliberately broke up with her poor boyfriend Alexander, shouldering the slur of gold-digger to protect him. After a family catastrophe she fell to the bottom and worked hard just to raise money to cure her seriously ill brother. Now Alexander is president of a top group; when they reunite, he misreads the past betrayal, forces her to sign a contract and stay with him using her brother's medical fees, and constantly tests and torments her. Though cold in word, he protects the bullied Chloe every time. A high fever finally exposes the suffering she concealed; learning the truth, Alexander is filled with guilt, offers a marriage agreement to make up for his faults, and the two dissolve years of estrangement, heal each other, and get through the hard times together—conveying the positive core that misunderstandings eventually dissolve and true hearts can finally stay together.
