Synopsis
"Clara, an ordinary girl, accidentally emails her BDSM self-assessment to Miranda Sterling, the feared editor-in-chief of MODE, America's top fashion magazine. Desperate for the $200,000 her mother's surgery costs, she shows up for the interview — and ends up tumbling into Miranda's arms with a spiked leather collar in her mouth. Mistaking her for a contracted ""pet"" sent by an agency, Miranda begins a most unconventional interview. To save her mother, Clara signs a dominance contract: $200,000 a month, twenty sessions, and a job as Miranda's personal assistant. But Clara carries a deep wound — fifteen years ago, she watched her mother be beaten half to death by an abusive man who called it love. Terrified of becoming her mother, she cannot resist surrendering to Miranda's control. Miranda, seeing her fear, never crosses the line. Instead, through blindfolds, restraints, and wax play, she teaches Clara that trauma and desire are not the same thing. Just as Clara gives her whole heart, jealous editor Lulu schemes — sending Miranda's former ""pet"" to crash their night, and leading Clara to discover thirty-seven old contracts locked in Miranda's drawer. Heartbroken, Clara tears up the contract and walks away. Miranda investigates, fires Lulu on the spot, and — even after the contract is destroyed — quietly pays Clara's mother's medical bills in full: ""That money was to save your mother, not to buy your soul."" Clara returns. On a night with no contract at all, they truly come together. But Lulu leaks secretly filmed footage to the New York Post, exploding into a global scandal. Unafraid of ruin, Miranda goes live before the world — and gets down on one knee to propose. At their castle wedding, wearing Miranda's platinum collar, Clara whispers: ""I will forever be your puppy — submitting only to you."" From one misdirected email, the fashion devil and her little madwoman find a love witnessed by the entire world."
