Synopsis
Delia pries Verity's fingers off a rooftop edge and lets her fall. Verity wakes nine years earlier in her twenty-year-old body, turns the ring inward and decides to write the rules. Delia, a transfer student, moves Verity's name down the guest list, announces a breakup for her and cries on cue. Verity pushes the name back and answers in public. She posts the uncut video, every sharp line intact, and shields friends once used as props. She hugs her mother Lenore too long, knowing the company collapsed in another life. She hunts Jonah Rusk, who repairs devices at Switchyard Repair and once broke a sealed door to reach her. When Delia turns his workbench into a photo op, Verity signs a thirty-thousand-dollar order to cover the losses and crosses out the tracking clauses before lending a phone. His reply never comes: his foster father takes it. A red circle on Lenore's calendar sits days from the gala where everything broke; she asks for three years of budgets and writes her own plan.
